Company Information
Our company was started by 2 individuals in 1995, with the vision to change the way rehabilitation was delivered.
In 1997, we began specializing in the spine exclusively and dedicated the clinic to pursuing the highest level of training and care for spine rehabilitation.
We have been extremely successful in working with all sorts of spine patients, from post-surgical to non-surgical to preventative care through our back school.
Privately held since it's opening, by Jeff De'Raps and Travis Smith, Sacramento Spine has no plans to sell shares to a large corporation for fear that the established "system" would be forced to change and quality care would be compromised. We've seen many private practice owners sell out to big companies with empty promises. At Sacramento Spine, we deliver on promises and patients not only prosper, they flourish.
Company History
1995: Fresh on the scene with one goal: To change rehabilitation in the greater Sacramento area. Jeff and Travis provided patients with the key elements for successful outcomes: (1) An active approach to rehab (2) Superior customer service (3) Desire and hard work to bring out the best in our patients.
1996: Opened the first physical therapy office in the Sacramento area inside a health & fitness facility. This allowed us the space and equipment needed for patients to reach their full potential. Treated patients from 5 am-8 pm Monday thru Friday. We treated beyond the injury site and implemented lifestyle modification/education into the patients care.
1997: Expanded our office and concentrated on rehabilitation of the spine. We knew we would make the biggest impact focusing on the spine as our primary specialty. We developed progressive treatment protocols and received tremendous positive feedback from local physicians regarding the outcomes of our patients. We incorporated aquatic therapy into our program and added Med-X lumbar testing equipment to our clinic.
1998: We noticed a shift in the competition and realized the impact we had made in the medical community. We endeared both anti-marketing campaigns from larger companies and copycat marketing from smaller companies. We knew it was time to separate ourselves again from the competition and expand our facilities and services. We purchased a 4.4 acre parcel on the border of Granite Bay and Roseville and formed a partnership to began construction on the 30,000 sq. ft. Roseville Health & Wellness Center.
1999: Relocated from Fair Oaks to Orangevale and upgraded our facility to accommodate the expanding business. Implemented the Low Back School as part of our patient education programs and began a comprehensive in-house training program specific to the spine. Construction continued on the Roseville Health & Wellness Center.
2000: Grand Opening of the Roseville Health & Wellness Center and the beginning of a new era of Sac Spine. We again stood alone as the premier physical therapy facility in Northern Ca. and created new programs such as: Cardiac rehab, pre/post natal care, weight loss programs, athletic training, post rehab exercise programs, etc. Instead of opening multiple locations in every town we emphasized quality and continuity as the company grew and focused on two locations: Roseville and Orangevale.
2001: Completion of the largest heated in-door aquatic therapy complex in the area validating our commitment to providing our patients with state-of-the-art facilities. As the company continued to grow we reinforced the basic principles that the company was founded on and never lost focus of the importance of successful outcomes.
2002: We are currently searching out future building sites for our next location and are developing more comprehensive programs for chronic pain patients. Rather than grow just for growths sake, you can be assured that we will continue to raise the standards for physical therapy and wellness. As we do, we hope that the rest of our industry will again shift to follow our lead to adapt similar standards in quality to survive in the competitive market we have helped create.
2003: Building has begun in Folsom for our next venture. This 41,000 square foot medical complex will house the next step in the healthcare evolution-The Folsom Health & Wellness Center. By early 2005, we will open the doors on what has begun to be a prototype for our healthcare concept bringing success to all involved.
2004: A year of changes. We are seeing the Worker’s compensation industry enact much needed changes. But at the same time there are many patients that are falling through the cracks of the healthcare system. Progress is being made very quickly on our new Folsom building, Regulatory insurance changes are forcing the cream of the physical therapy industry to rise to the top, while the smaller players are falling away. I predict by 2006 there will be 20% less outpatient physical therapy clinics than there are this year.
2005: The Orangevale clinic has now relocated to the new Folsom building. We have started showcasing our patient success stories each month. Our neighbors in the building, Folsom Orthopedics, are placing their trust in us and we are proving that Sac Spine is more than just a place for the back and neck. The indoor heated pool, the large fitness center, and the in house medical staff make Sacramento Spine & PT Folsom, the premier stop for any patients that needs outpatient physical therapy.
We wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for trust in treating patients over the years. Sacramento Spine & Physical Therapy is a progressive company who is not going to slow down and will always remain on the cutting edge of rehabilitation. Regardless of how large the company may appear to be we still have a “mom & pop” attitude and adhere to the same goals as 1995. We will always appreciate the privilege to treat individuals and value the relationships we have formed with physicians, co-workers and patients. So cheers to ten years in the physical therapy business and cheers to a bright future. |
